67Why do networks cancel good shows?
Stargate Universe got off to a show start with the first season. Not much really happened on the slow until the end of the first season. The second season was by far their best season. It is really too bad that it was cancelled because the storyline was really starting to progress into something good and a lot more things were starting to happen on the show.
New Events from Season 2
On season 2 Dr. Rush learned the master code and was able to finally take control the ship but the rest of the crew didn't find out until episode 7 after he used the ship to save the crew members who were trapped aboard a derelict ship drifting in space with now power. Eli was the one who first learned of Rush's secret.
In this season there was also a powerful enemy that was hell bent on destroying The Destiny, it was a command ship and several hundreds of thousands of drones which they managed to overcome for a little while. The problem is there were several more of these command ships with it's own drones that was capable of tracking The Destiny anywhere it went in the galaxy they were in. The ship and it's crew were left in a tight spot when the command ships began blocking every star within range that Destiny could use to recharge. They had to use a blue super giant to recharge but that star was too hot and left the Destiny damaged and they would not be able to do that again.
I would like to see an ending for this show and if the destiny ever reaches it's mission which was to travel to the beginning of the universe and investigate the structure that they discovered. There was a lot left hanging up in the air and was not concluded. In the very last episode they had to alter their course to avoid the command ships and it's drones. Everyone went into stasis pods and they would have to remain there for 3 years because the was how long it would take to get to the next galaxy. They would have to reserve every bit of power they could because when the entered the void in space they would not be able to recharge as there were no stars in range and it would take them 3 years to reach one. Eli was not able to get into a pod because one of them was damaged. He had 2 weeks to fix it before the life support would have to be turned off and and the ship was run on minimum power to be able to make it to the next galaxy.
I hope they make a movie
I think it would be great if they even made a movie just to explain what happens to the crew. I really don't like when shows go off air and not explain what happens. When it ended I was like, "man, you got to be kidding me." Why would they end a show that way? I guess I will just wait and see what happens and if they ever get a chance to make the movie they said was in the works.
